Digital book of children’s health from May 23

The Electronic Health Book, as well as the National Vaccine Registry for Children and Adolescents, went live today, Monday 23 May.

These are two services that improve the monitoring of a child’s development and make it easier to plan for key pediatric immunizations. Thus, parents and pediatricians can now organize the health care of children more effectively.

The innovation was implemented by the Social Security Electronic Government (Ηλεκτρονική Διακυβέρνηση Κοινωνικής Ασφάλισης, ΗΔΙΚΑ ΑΕ), a supervised body of the Ministry of Digital Government. Recall that the relevant ministerial decree was signed and published at the beginning of April 2022, and the work of the services was presented a month ago to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis by Digital Government Minister of State Kyriakos Pierrakakis. On April 11, pediatricians began electronic registration of children’s data in digital format, informs

Digital Child Health Booklet

After digitization, the child’s health book, previously published in printed form and containing a pediatric history, is transferred to an individual electronic medical record (Ατομικό Ηλεκτρονικό Φάκελο Υγείας, ΑΗΦΥ). Thus, the child’s digital health booklet is now displayed as a separate sub-category of ΑΗΦΥ and is available to parents (entry through under “Pediatric History” “Παιδιατρικό Ιστορικό”).

AT electronic health book the child’s health data for each age period is displayed, and the total number of vaccinations registered by the doctor in the national vaccine registry for children and adolescents (both already given and planned by the doctor).

National Immunization Registry for Children and Adolescents

Thanks to the vaccination registry for children and adolescents, for the first time, Greece has a fully organized system. The creation of a vaccination registry for children and adolescents is aimed at electronic registration of vaccines against all diseases. The vaccination schedule up to adolescence will be registered in the registry (Εθνικού Προγράματος Εμβολιασμού για Παιδιά κι Εφήβους) and in accordance with the instructions of the National Vaccination Committee.

This gives parents access to information from the National Child and Adolescent Immunization Registry regarding the vaccination coverage of their children who are their health insurance dependents.
