SBU established who fired at the railway station in Kramatorsk

Examinations have been completed and evidence has been received – on April 8, the railway station in Kramatorsk was fired from “Point U”, located on the territory not controlled by Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine received unquestioning evidence of the involvement of the Russian military in the shelling of the railway station in Kramatorsk. As a result of the missile strike on April 8, 61 people were killed and 121 injured. Artem Dekhtyarenko, spokesman for the Security Service of Ukraine, says:

“Thanks to a number of studies of the missile’s flight path and analysis of other aspects, it was possible to establish that the strike was carried out from the territory of the Donetsk region, which has been under the temporary occupation of the Russian Federation since 2014.

Experts confirmed that a 9M79-1 guided single-stage solid-propellant rocket with a cartridge charge was used for the shelling. For the general public, it is better known as “Point U”. According to the SBU, several complexes with Tochka U are located in the occupied territories of Donbass and have been used by the invaders for 8 years already.

According to the speaker of the SBU, investigators continue their work and replenish the evidence base in the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). He emphasizes that the real facts have quite documentary evidence.

Previously BBC claimed, which has the evidence of its correspondents who visited the Kramatorsk railway station after the strike. The traces found match those of cluster munitions. Such ammunition, when exploding, scatter smaller elements, which independently explode later (sometimes much later).
