Nia Vardalos’ cult film, the sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, has been given the green light and part of the filming will take place on the island of Corfu, according to Corfu TV News.
Local media added that the film industry is also looking to hire people of all ages as extras for a fee.
The news comes just over a year after it was first announced that the sequel was written by Greek-Canadian screenwriter and actress Nia Vardalos.
“Yes, it’s true that for over a year we have been trying to film a script I wrote called My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Of course we’ve brought in all the actors (from the previous two films) and we’re trying to hire more,” Vardalos said in a video uploaded to Instagram.
Nia Vardalos also shared that this film will be a tribute to the late Michael Constantine, the actor who played the famous Gus Portokaloswho passed away last August.
Filming must take place in Greecereportedly, on the island of Corfu – from July 5 to August 3, 2022.
