Passenger traffic at Greek airports grew by 383% and reached 8.1 million people between January and April 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, when only 1.7 million passengers were registered due to Covid restrictions, The Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday.
Compared to the same period in 2019, there were 9.6% fewer flights and 22.5% fewer passengers than in the record year.
According to preliminary statistics, in April 2022, passenger traffic increased to 3,591,241 people, which is 555.2% more than in April 2021.
Arrivals from abroad increased by 1179.8% year on year, reaching 1,299,571, but still 1.1% lower than in April 2019, among other things noted in CAA statement.
