For many Europeans, Bloomberg predicts a life of poverty in the near future.
It cites data from NIESR, the UK National Institute for Economic and Social Research. According to disappointing forecasts, the number of Britons living in poverty will reach a million next year. And that’s just in one country. The reason is the continuing rise in energy prices, which is facilitated by the situation in Ukraine, as well as problems in the labor market.
NIESR notes that in the very near future, 250,000 British families will live in “extreme poverty”, and the country should prepare for a recession in the economy. Experts have calculated that to support the rapidly impoverished population, the government needs to allocate $ 5.2 billion for a support package.
Presumably says edition, inflation at the end of the year will be 14.4% – this will be the highest figure in the last 40 years. The country’s economy, NIESR predicts, will shrink by 5% by this period.
The impact of inflation on Greek economy and society is becoming increasingly difficult: households are seeing a sharp decline in their real incomes and fear unemployment in a new cycle of recession, while corporations are seeing their profits fall due to increased production and operating costs and lower sales volumes.
