A man who, according to preliminary information, was “crushed” by a robotic steel trash can in Alexandroupolis, died a terrible death.
According to the Greek news outlet e-evros, a 40-year-old homeless man walked up to the dumpster of the new technology with the thought of “what to profit from.” However, the lid of the robotic trash can automatically slammed shut, leaving the man trapped in its grip. Half of his body was inside the container, and the other half was outside.
Passers-by rushed to help the homeless. Two EKAV ambulances and a fire brigade were called to the scene. Rescuers made an effort to get the stuck man out of the dumpster. Nevertheless, the condition of the victim was very serious. A few minutes later the man died.
