Hundreds of children died in Ukraine due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, UNICEF reports – 100 child deaths were recorded in April alone.
An even greater number of children were injured, said in UN Security Council 12 March Omar Abdi, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director:
“In the last month alone, the UN has confirmed that about 100 children have been killed, and we believe the actual numbers are much higher. … More children have been injured and faced serious violations of their rights, millions have been displaced. The war in Ukraine is like and all wars are a crisis of child protection and children’s rights.”
