Notaries in Athens, Piraeus and some of the islands voted on Tuesday to suspend work for 20 days from the end of May to protest the National Cadastre’s decision to make electronic filing of property documents and contracts mandatory.
At a general meeting, notaries raised questions about the security of the electronic submission and said citizens should be allowed to physically file property deeds if they so choose.
It is expected that notaries from other regions will join the stop.
