Samaria Gorge: E-Ticket Entry

The platform for issuing an electronic entrance ticket to visit the Samaria Gorge, the magnificent wildlife reserve of Crete, has begun work.

Starting this year, visitors to the Samaria National Park (Φαράγγι της Σαμαριάς) will be able to issue an electronic ticket at The ticket is nominal and is valid only on the day for which it is issued, as specifically emphasized in the announcement.

Visitors will be able to collect their ticket issued through the appropriate platform at both entrances to the gorge (Xyloskalo Omalou and Agia Roumeli) upon arrival there.

The basic price for an individual ticket is 5 euros, for excursions by clubs or associations of more than 10 people – 4 euros, and in the case of families – 3 euros each.

Opening hours of Samaria National Park this year:

  • 07:00-13:00 for visitors who cross the entire route (Xyloskalo-Agia Roumeli or Agia Roumeli-Kiloskalo) or part of it.
  • 13:00-15:00 for visitors who will move exclusively to the first 2 kilometers of the northern entrance and specifically to the Xyloskalo-Nerutsiko recreation area route.
  • 13:00-16:00 for visitors who will move exclusively in the first 2 kilometers from the southern entrance and specifically along the route “Agia Roumeli – the resting place of the Master Christ”.

In any case, visitors must leave the national park no later than 18:00.
