Unidentified individuals poured red paint over Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev as he tried to lay a wreath at the Soviet military cemetery in Warsaw as part of the May 9 Victory Day celebrations.
The Russian correspondent of RIA Novosti reported that the diplomat was ultimately unable to lay a wreath, and, according to the same source, the Poles and Ukrainians allegedly blocked his path, showering him with curses.
As a result, Mr. Andreev was forced to leave the cemetery accompanied by the police.
The reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry was immediate, stating that “we cannot be intimidated, the followers of neo-Nazism once again showed their bloody face,” the Greek edition writes. lifo.gr.
