Madrid: attack on the “Immortal Regiment”

A man holding a Ukrainian flag attacked the participants of yesterday’s action “Immortal Regiment” in the Spanish capital.

Under the approving cries of the procession participants, the man was detained by law enforcement officers. The day before, the organizer of the action told the correspondent Izvestiathat he was threatened and insulted in every possible way. Therefore, the police have taken increased security measures. Possible provocations that day were also taken into account. The organizer of the event also said that he received recommendations from the government and the king not to hold the action in Spain.

However, many people think differently. Mladenko Tsolich, a World War II veteran, doctor of military history, fighter of the 10th Dalmatian brigade, colonel, told Izvestia that the ban on the Immortal Regiment processions in Europe could result in the restoration of fascism. In his opinion, it is beneficial to rehabilitate the Nazis for some leaders, “subject to propaganda and pressure.” The professor stressed that the bulk of the people do not want this.

This year in many European countries, including in Greece, processions of the “Immortal Regiment” are prohibited. On April 28, the United States and Ireland reported this, a week earlier – Estonia. In Pridnestrovie, on April 27, the procession on Victory Day was canceled due to security requirements – earlier there were several terrorist attacks.
