Greece reopens embassy in Kyiv

“Today, the Greek flag is flying again in Kyiv and the Greek Embassy has reopened its doors in the Ukrainian capital, which is a high symbolism,” Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said in statements on Monday following a meeting with Kenyan Foreign Minister Reychel Omamo.

“The Greek flag is flying again today in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, where our embassy opened its doors. Manolis Androulakis, the last diplomat to leave the now tortured city of Mariupol, has been appointed head of the commission.”

Manolis Androulakis, the last diplomat to leave Mariupol, was appointed head of the Greek embassy in Kyiv as charge d’affaires.

Also, the head of the Greek Foreign Ministry sent a message to the world community that Greece, through its embassy in Kyiv and consulate in Odessa, is close to ethnic Greeks and the Ukrainian people.
