Purple Cave: Evia’s “hidden gem” that will take your breath away

The purple cave on the island of Evia is a “diamond” well hidden among the beauties of Greece and has a unique beauty.

Practically little-known attraction, natural monument Μωβ Σπήλαιο στην Εύβοια is another strong proof that Greece is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The Purple Cave of Mesochoria is a nature reserve unparalleled in its beauty.

In its northern underwater part there is purple algae, from which the cave got its name (Μωβ Σπήλαιο). It measures 15 meters wide and 25 meters long (measured by Google Earth). The height from the surface of the water is about 20 meters. There are also underwater entrances.

The bottom of the cave is divided into two parts: ground and water, which has almost the same dimensions as the cave itself, and a depth of 10 to 20 meters.

The Purple Cave is a magical place that is definitely worth a visit. Pay attention to the security measures that you will need to take, since both the cave itself and the wider area near it are very difficult to access, informs enikos.gr.
