Migrants "occupied" rocks near Kos

On a rocky islet northwest of Kos, 106 migrants were found, including 20 children.

All of them were handed over to the Island Identification Center by the Coast Guard. Near the place where the migrants were found, there was a half-submerged sailboat. Despite the fact that no missing people were reported, an inspection of the sea area in the area was carried out. Among the migrants – 72 men, 14 women and 20 minor children. All of them are healthy and do not complain about their well-being.

Earlier in February, our publication reported: the Minister of Migration of Greece refuted the allegations Turkey that 12 migrants froze to death on the land border between the two countries after Greek border guards drove them back to Turkey. Children were also reportedly among the dead. Soylu, Turkey’s interior minister, accused Greek border guards of pushing the migrants, 22 in all, back across the border. He named border guards “thugs”, and EU “helpless, weak and inhuman”. The governor’s office of the province of Edirne, close to the land border with Greece, said the dead included a migrant who died in hospital after being rescued by Turkish authorities.
