An incredible theft took place today in the center of Thessaloniki. Unknown people completely took away the entire kiosk, in which activists of the organization “Child’s Smile” collected donations to children for Easter.
A kiosk measuring 6 x 2.5 m, installed at the intersection of Ag. Sofia and Ermu disappeared without a trace from the city center area.
As Ioanna Macri, coordinator for Northern Greece of the Child’s Smile organization, told GRTimes, at the end of the festive period, the contents of the kiosk were collected last night in order to fold the shield “house” today, remove it from the square and take it to storage. It is for this reason that they contacted the Municipality of Thessaloniki, which provided the area for the erection of the structure, in order to inform them of the necessary actions.
Today, however, representatives of the organization were surprised to find that the kiosk owned by the company has disappeared, and since then they have been conducting an investigation to find out if the theft is a misunderstanding.
Unfortunately, no error has been identified from the messages that representatives of the organization “Smile of a Child” still have, and, as everything shows, this is an unprecedented theft, about which an official complaint was filed with law enforcement.
Ms. Makri calls on anyone who has seen something or has any information about the fate of the kiosk to report either to the authorities or Smile of a Child.
