Unknown intruders, on the day of memory of St. George, today at dawn committed an act of vandalism in the church on Karitsi Square (πλατεία Καρύτση), which bears his name.
Vandals mercilessly smashed the marble iconostasis located at the entrance to the temple located in the center of the Greek capital. Presumably, the purpose of the criminals was to find money – it was here in the past that believers left their donations for the needs of the church. However, they did not find anything, the result of their vandal invasion was damage to the church, reports newsbreak.gr.
