Was it a “divine sign”…? The Greeks are actively discussing an incident that occurred during a service in the Athens Cathedral on Maundy Thursday, where Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was present.
It is reported that Mitsotakis took part in the Passion (Crucifixion, 12 Gospels) on the night of Maundy Thursday in the Athens Cathedral.
Video of a live broadcast by the state TV channel ERT shows that while the cross with the crucifix was being carried to the altar, near which the prime minister was standing, it was almost dropped several times.
The reason, no doubt, was the elderly priest, who found it difficult to carry a heavy crucifix. But the general dislike for the current prime minister has played into the hands of those who like to slander. “It’s a divine sign,” they say…
