On Easter Tuesday, April 26, a platform will open where you can apply for a gasoline or diesel allowance in the amount of 40-55 euros. Applications can be submitted based on the personal tax number (ΑΦΜ) during the Easter week.
Applications of individuals in a special application will be submitted in turn, depending on their individual tax number ΑΦΜ, in the following order:
- 04/26/2022 – for ΑΦΜ numbers ending in 0 and 1;
- 04/27/2022 – for ΑΦΜ numbers ending in 2 and 3;
- 04/28/2022 – for ΑΦΜ numbers ending in 4 and 5;
- 04/29/2022 – for ΑΦΜ numbers ending in 6 and 7;
- 04/30/2022 – for ΑΦΜ numbers ending in 8 and 9.
From May 1, 2022 it will be possible to apply, regardless of identification number.
The subsidy applies to all types of fuel, but is limited by the level of income of citizens. It applies to those whose family income does not exceed 30,000 euros, and is equal to 22 cents per liter per 180 liters (for cars). Especially for citizens who have their main place of residence on the islands, a three-month subsidy amounts to 28 cents per liter.
For motorcycle owners, the subsidy is set at 17 cents per liter in mainland areas and 19.5 cents per liter in the island zone, with a total volume of up to 180 liters.

- 50 € FOR CARS IN THE AREAS OF THE ISLAND.
How to apply for a fuel subsidy
Step 1
The citizen will enter the electronic platform located on the single digital portal gov.gr using only their codes in TAXISnet and will declare the vehicle for which he is applying for a subsidy.
It is noted that for this car, the beneficiary must have a percentage of shared ownership or a long-term lease agreement. In addition, each vehicle must be declared by one individual, while the beneficiary can only declare one vehicle, provided, of course, that it is in circulation and insured.
The subsidy will be provided per vehicle per family. Thus, if the household has two cars (one in the name of one spouse and the second in the name of the other), the subsidy will be issued to a card that is open in the name of both. Through the platform, it will be checked whether the person concerned meets the income criteria and owns a car.
Step 2
The citizen will then enter and verify their mobile phone number, email address, and IBAN when filling out the grant application. Further, after rechecking his data, he will receive an SMS and an email to activate the card and instructions for use.
As with the pandemic, aid recipients will have the right to redeem the gas station subsidy amount at any time until June. The amount will appear in the mobile phone application, and its use can be made when buying any fuel at a gas station.
So both those who use diesel fuel and those who consume gasoline or liquefied gas receive money. The amount credited to the card will depend on the vehicle and place of residence.
How to apply
The beneficiary, after authenticating with his personal credentials of the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Government, enters an application and requests either the issuance of a digital debit card or the crediting of the above amount to a bank account.
The applicant completes and updates their contact details and in particular their email address, mobile phone number and personal bank account number. The digital debit card remains activated until 31.07.2022, after which the credit or financial institution is obliged to immediately deactivate it. The remaining part is returned to the Greek state, and its further search by the beneficiary is excluded.
The amount credited to a credit or debit card can only be used by the beneficiary to purchase fuel and cannot be transferred to a third party, except as stated above, or withdrawn.
