More refugees from Ukraine arrive in Greece

More than 20,000 Ukrainian refugees are in Greece, of which 387 have entered in the last 24 hours.

The Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum issued instructions for citizens of Ukraine regarding the conditions of arrival in Greeceand told where and how they can get help and shelter.

According to the Greek Ministry of Civil Protection, there were 20,481 Ukrainian refugees in the country, of which 5,853 were minors.

Over the past 24 hours (04/16/2022), according to the headquarters of the Greek police, 387 Ukrainian refugees arrived in Greece, 99 of them are minors.

In particular:

  • 174 entered from Promachonas,
  • 23 came from Evzoni,
  • 131 from other areas (across the land border).

55 arrived at the Eleftherios Venizelos airport, 3 at the Macedonia airport and one citizen at another airport, writes iefimerida.gr.

You can enter Greece by following the following procedures:

  1. Holders of Ukrainian passports with biometric data can enter through all checkpoints (land and air) with a maximum duration of 90 days.
  1. Holders of Ukrainian passports without biometrics (old type) can enter through all checkpoints with the required entry visa or transit visa with a maximum duration of 90 days.

Attention: in the above cases, the Greek Police will stamp your passport with the date of entry.

  1. Citizens of Ukraine who do not have travel documents can only enter through the checkpoint Promachonas, where you will be issued a relevant document from the staff of the Embassy of Ukraine in Greece. After undergoing this procedure, you can stay with a maximum duration of 90 days.
  2. If your children do not have travel documents, the Greek Police will mark under the entry stamp in your passport the number of minors you are accompanying.
