Operation Nostos 7 to evacuate 47 people from Ukraine, including one Greek citizen, 25 ethnic Greeks and one Swedish citizen, has been successfully completed, the Greek Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
The evacuees crossed the Ukrainian-Moldovan border at midnight on Tuesday, April 12, and already on Wednesday, April 13, they arrived in Bucharest, according to message ministries. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a significant role in its successful completion was played by Boumbouras Foundation.

“We express our gratitude to the Boumbouras Foundation and all those who contributed to the successful outcome of this difficult operation,” said the Foreign Minister on Twitter.
It’s already 7th operation. Previous “Nostos 6”, for the evacuation of Greeks and citizens of other countries from war-torn Ukraine, took place on March 18. Then four Greek citizens and 6 expatriates were taken out.
The most famous was operation number 3 (“Νόστος 3*), when 81 people left Mariupol.
