On Sunday, the head of the Austrian government, in an interview with reporters, noted that he would like to promote dialogue between the two countries and discuss war crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine with the Russian president. The visit was coordinated with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The day before, Mr. Nehammer visited Kyiv and visited Bucha, where numerous bodies of dead civilians were found. The Austrian chancellor does not overestimate the role of Austria in ending the war, but would like to do everything possible for this.
