There will be no strike: flights as usual on April 6

Flights to and from all airports in Greece will operate as normal and without problems on the day of the general strike on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the Civil Aviation Authority announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The CAA found a legal way to make the 24-hour strike by air traffic controllers illegal. Following an appeal by the CAA, a court in Athens ruled that the 24-hour strike air traffic controllers, electronics and communications engineers would be illegal. In this sense, flights to and from all airports in the country will operate as usual, according to the state news agency. amna.

However, the court decision does not give a 100% guarantee that all flights will depart or arrive.

As we reported earlier, April 6 will be general strikedeclared by the trade unions ΓΣΕΕ and ΑΔΕΔΥ.

Metro, trams and HSAP S-Bahn, trolleybuses and suburban trains will stop for the whole day, buses will operate only from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. It is expected that the full movement of buses will begin at about 9:30-10:00 in the morning, and in the evening they will gradually leave the routes after 20:00 and even earlier.

Public transport workers require in their application:

“The signing of a collective labor agreement, the strengthening of public transport, measures to prevent the impoverishment of the population, the solution of the problem of poverty and the removal of obstacles to the activities of trade unions imposed by the Hadzidakis law.”

The strike organizers are calling on workers to take part in a rally to be held in the center of the Greek capital, on Klaftmonos Square (πλατεία Κλαυθμώνος) at 11 am.
