Deadlines for certificates of vaccinations and past illness are extended

The validity period of the certificate of vaccinations and past illness is changed, according to a new ministerial decree published on April 2. At the same time, their duration increases.

Thus, based on the new measures, the validity of the vaccination certificate is 9 months, and the certificate of illness has been extended by 6 months. What applies to everyone expired health certificates.

New QMS (Δ1α / ΓΠ.οικ.18959 / 04/02/2022 (Government Gazette B 1547), published on April 2 (ΚΥΑ (Δ1α/ΓΠ.οικ.18959/02.04.2022 (ΦΕΚ Β 1547), που εκδόθηκε στις 2 Απρίλη), includes all measures that will be in effect until 11 April. According to information and certificates of illness, which expired earlier at 6 am on April 4, will come into effect retroactively and will continue to be valid for another 6 months, writes news4health.gr.

At the same time, the validity period of the certificate is extended by 6 months. In particular, according to ΚΥΑ, the validity of a medical certificate lasts up to one hundred and eighty (180) days after a positive test for covid.

We remind you that unvaccinated people cannot be re-issued a certificate of illnessif a repeated laboratory test was carried out by PCR after 180 (one hundred and eighty) days of validity of the certificate of illness plus 1 (one) day and the result is positive.
Against, persons vaccinated with two doses of vaccine or a single dose of vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) who are re-infected with COVID-19 during the validity of the vaccination certificate (i.e. within nine months second or single dose) may reissue a reinfection certificate, which will be valid for one hundred and eighty (180) days.

How can I apply for a sickness certificate?

A medical certificate is issued:

  1. after a laboratory test by PCR within 14 (fourteen) days after the first positive test,
  2. especially for fully vaccinated, as well as after a rapid test.
