Weather: mud showers, thunderstorms and hail in the west and north of the country

The weather will change on Friday 01/04, according to the latest weather forecast from the National Observatory of Athens.

Rains will be mainly in the west and north of the country, and thunderstorms are possible from noon, which in some cases may be accompanied by hail. In the early hours of Saturday 02/04, bad weather will show a temporary weakening.

Weather phenomena will be limited to the western part of the Ionian Sea, but in the morning they will intensify again and spread to the northern part of Greece. A high concentration of dust in the atmosphere leads to the formation of mud rain.

The Aegean Sea will be dominated by southerly winds of 6 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, which will reach 9 in places by noon in the eastern regions. By the evening it will subside a little, up to 6-7 points on the Beaufort scale.

In the Ionian Sea – wind from the south and south-west direction with a force of 3 to 5 points, in some places up to 6 points on the Beaufort scale.

High waves, which are expected mainly on the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, can create problems on the coast, so caution is advised.
