“Subsidiaries” of the companies “Gazprom” and “Rosneft” in Germany can be nationalized

The Handelsblatt edition, citing sources in government circles, reports that Germany may nationalize or confiscate the German subsidiaries of Gazprom and Rosneft.

The German authorities are considering this possibility, and the Ministry of Economy is developing various scenarios in case the supply of Russian energy carriers is stopped. As the newspaper writes, we are talking about two companies: Gazprom Germania – the operator of a number of large German gas storage facilities, Rosneft Deutschland carries out Rosneft’s operations in Germany. The latter is considered the third largest player in the local oil refining market.

In addition, Rosneft Deutschland serves takeoffs/landings at the Berlin airport and supplies fuel to the vehicles of the city’s operational services, reports bb.lv

As our publication reported, about the “closing of the valve” on the gas pipeline warned Russian President Vladimir Putin. An alternative is to pay for deliveries from April 1 in rubles. Yesterday, Putin signed a decree obliging “unfriendly countries” from April 1, that is, from today, to pay for gas in rubles through Russian banks. In the absence of such payment, contracts will be suspended and gas will be cut off.

As reported today European truth, the Russian Gazprom has ceased its participation in the German company Gazprom Germania and in all its assets, including Gazprom Marketing & Trading, the company’s press service said. Gazprom’s subsidiaries in Europe are now under pressure as customers and business partners refuse to do business with them. Bloomberg.
