Elderly man in Rhodes confesses to sexually abusing his mentally handicapped daughter

A 73-year-old man from the island of Rhodes confessed to police that he sexually abused his 49-year-old daughter, who has an intellectual disability.

Police have arrested a man for questioning to answer allegations of rape, sexual assault of a mentally handicapped person and incest.

According to the publication dimokratiki, the man told the police: “I don’t know what happened… The devil has taken possession of me.” He claimed to have once had sex with his daughter.

On February 28, 2022, the brother of the injured woman reported to the Rhodes police that two days ago, a neighbor saw his sister, who lives next door and suffers from severe mental deprivation, with an elderly man who was previously introduced as her father.

An eyewitness to the incident reported, in particular, that on the morning of February 26, he got into a truck and saw in the basement of a neighboring house, in the open front door, an old man with his pants down and underwear over a woman who was lying naked on the sofa.

When the neighbor looked outside, according to him, the man had already put on his pants, took the woman to another room and closed the door. The old man left the house after 20 minutes and the witness found out that it was the woman’s 73-year-old father!

At the police identification process, the witness confirmed his testimony. The woman’s brother reported to the police that he was the guardian of a sister with 67% mental retardation.

The woman was initially cared for by their mother, who passed away in 2009. His parents divorced in 1982, and his father remarried.

The brother even said that the sister had already been raped by another man 7 years ago, the rapist had already been convicted. The woman, according to the same information, was examined and confirmed the fact of rape by her father, saying that she wants him to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
