Employment turned into a nightmare

An 18-year-old girl had a real nightmare when a 31-year-old man, who introduced himself as the father of a 3-year-old child, raped her in the apartment where the “interview” for employment took place.

The rapist was arrested yesterday afternoon in Piraeus by members of the Northeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate.

According to the information, the detainee contacted the girl through an Internet application, telling her that he needed a nanny for his child. He even managed to convince her that he was a family man.

The girl went to an apartment located in New Philadelphia to meet with a potential employer, discuss the conditions and get to know the child.

When the girl arrived, he told her that his wife and child (which he really did not have) should soon come from relatives.
They sat for a while in the living room of the house, and then he allegedly invited the visitor to look at the children’s room.

That’s where the whole nightmare happened. The man entered the room (which did not look like a nursery) and, threatening with a knife, forced the young woman to undress. Fearing for her life, she obeyed the man, who pushed her onto the bed and raped her.

As soon as he released his victim, the woman reported the incident to her friend and wrote a statement to the police. As it turned out, the particular apartment did not even belong to a man.

A preliminary investigation was carried out by the North East Attica Police Department, reports iefimerida.gr. It is noted that the offender previously had a criminal record. From 2013 to 2018, cases were initiated against him, including for theft, assault (tearing a bag out of the hands of a passerby), as well as violation of weapons laws and counterfeit (illegally used) clothing.
