In China, the number of cases of coronavirus infection is rapidly increasing. For the first time in a year and two months, since January 25 last year, two deaths from covid have been recorded, the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People’s Republic of China said.
More than 4,000 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected over the past day. Compared to the data a week ago, the number of infected is 19% more. According to a public health official, both patients who died had serious comorbidities, and one of them had not been vaccinated. Jiao Yahui of the National Health Committee notes:
“The course of covid, in itself, was not severe. The immediate cause of death is associated with the main diseases. The current round of the epidemic has affected several areas of the country. Mostly people are infected with a mutated omicron strain. The number of cases in some provinces is growing rapidly.”
More than 29 thousand confirmed cases of infection have been registered in the country since the beginning of March, reports euronews. In China, there are already 434 residential areas with an increased level of epidemic danger – 6 times more than a month ago, February 19.
