Thessaloniki: arrest of 18 people in the last 24 hours

Over the past 24 hours, police officers of the main department have carried out a number of operational activities. As a result of raids in Thessaloniki, 18 people were detained.

The arrests were made as part of special measures and inspections to prevent and combat crime. An 18-year-old boy accused of participating in an armed robbery was identified and detained, the newspaper reports. In particular, on February 19, a criminal who committed an armed robbery at a gas station in the eastern district of Thessaloniki was arrested.

Three people were arrested for violating the Narcotic Substances Act, five for theft, two for possession and use of forged documents, and seven for illegal presence in the country.

The special events were attended by police officers of the Office for Foreigners, as well as their colleagues – guardians of order at the state airport and other competent authorities.

Such special raids and preventive measures, in order to ensure the maximum level of security in the northern capital of Greece, will be carried out on a regular basis.
