The death of 45-year-old Ukrainian refugee Natalia Kretova, who died shortly after arriving in Rome after a thirty-hour journey, caused a stir in Italy.
Reportedly, the woman went to the capital of Italy with two children 12 and 10 years old. As soon as the bus arrived in Rome and the passengers got off, Natalia Kretova suffered a heart attack in front of her children, who sought help from fellow travelers, men and women, as well as Italian civil protection officials.
Despite the efforts of two police officers who were next to the bus, and the immediate call for an ambulance, the unfortunate mother could not be saved.
The boys were temporarily housed in a juvenile welfare center in the Albano district, a village near Rome, reports APE-MPE. The children are in a state of shock and are constantly supported by a team of psychologists.
“This is another tragic loss in this unthinkable war,” writes the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
