Five people ended up in the hospital after a Thessaloniki city bus driver lost control and rammed eight cars, a taxi and a motorcycle waiting at a traffic light.

A horrific traffic accident occurred in the late afternoon of March 18, at the intersection of Lagada and Agiou Dimitriou streets in the city center, when the ΟΑΣΘ bus, following the Venizelos-Kallithea route, suddenly behaved in a strange way, reports newsbreak.gr.

The multi-ton vehicle followed a “crazy” course, resulting in at least 5 people being slightly injured, including a pregnant woman. The injured were taken to the Papageorgiou hospital for first aid.

Traffic control is carried out on this section of the road by the traffic police, while the ascent along Lagada Street from the height of Monastiri to Agios Nestoros is blocked. In the area of M. Kalu, which reaches Vardaris, traffic jams have formed.

“At some point, everything went dark before my eyes. I don’t remember anything until the moment the bus stopped. Everything that happened to me was described to me by the police. I didn’t understand anything,” said the 56-year-old ΟΑΣΘ bus driver.
