Armed bank robbery in Menidi

Law enforcement agencies raised the alarm in connection with an armed robbery of a bank in Menidi.

The raiders broke into the operating room of the bank, located on Dekelias Street, on Monday morning, March 14th.

According to preliminary information, two intruders entered the bank branch, posing as customers. And then, drawing a pistol, they immobilized the employees, demanding money. It is not yet known how much they managed to take with them, writes

The police have been informed. An investigation is currently underway to locate the pair of perpetrators.

As you know, bank robberies have evolved over the years from a common crime to a widespread pop cultural phenomenon. The robbers became role models, films were made about them, songs were dedicated to them. According to The Washington Post reporter Justin Jouvenal, who specializes in topics about the courts and the police, bank robberies are “the quintessence of crime.”

Fortunately, over the years, there are fewer and fewer people who want to come to the bank with a gun and a bag of money. Armored vaults, surveillance cameras, long prison terms scare off criminals. Yes, and modern society itself does not look at the robbers with former admiration. None of them managed to reach the fame of Butch Cassidy or Bonnie and Clyde.
