The meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has ended.
The joint dinner hosted by the Turkish President at the Vahdetin mansion in Istanbul lasted about an hour and a half. Before starting the meal, Erdogan greeted the Greek Prime Minister and showed him a view of the Bosphorus.
Mr. Mitsotakis said: “Given everything that is happening, we have something to discuss about our region”, to which the Turkish President replied: “We will discuss everything.” Erdogan noted that he is quite pleased with the results, but “there are still some inconsistencies.”
Finally left at the table without the presence of the press, the interlocutors discussed what they would drink. Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that water is good, but if Tayyip Erdogan does this, he will also drink tea with pleasure.
The interlocutors preferred to do without ties, emphasizing the relaxed atmosphere that arose between them. Mitsotakis did not fail to note: “Casual clothes sometimes invite more serious discussions.”
