Kindergartens and nurseries closed today in Attica

As a precaution against the impending bad weather, nurseries and kindergartens are closed today in the regions of Attica.

The Centers for Creative Employment of Children (ΚΔΑΠ), Creative Employment Centers for Children and Persons with Disabilities (ΚΔΑΠ ΑμεΑ), Day Care Centers in the Regional Branch of the North and East Sectors of Attica, and in the Fili Municipality of West Attica will also remain closed.

Local authorities have the right to correct this decision and additionally suspend the activities of pre-school, primary and secondary education structures, even if this is not indicated in the announcement.

Domna Mihailidou, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, said the government’s actions were taken because of the impending bad weather: “We are protecting and caring for all our fellow citizens, especially those who need it most.”

Our publication previously reported that in Northern Greece closed children’s educational institutions. Due to the heavy snowfall that hit many areas of Yanina Prefecture on the night of March 8-9, schools and kindergartens were closed even in the city. Many municipalities in Western Macedonia have suspended schools due to prolonged and heavy snowfall.
