A meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Ukraine will be held in Antalya, Turkey

The meeting between Dmitry Kuleba and Sergey Lavrov, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Russia, is scheduled for March 10 in Antalya.

The talks were announced by Mevlut Cavusoglu, head of Turkish diplomacy. The issues to be discussed by the Foreign Ministers are not reported.

From the very beginning of Russia’s armed invasion, Turkey has been “trying to sit on two chairs”: it supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and supplies it with weapons, but categorically refuses to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation. Erdogan is trying to become a mediator – he held telephone conversations with the presidents of both countries and urged them to meet.

The contact between Lavrov and Kuleba with the participation of Cavusoglu will take place on the sidelines of the diplomatic forum in Antalya, said Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. She noted that the agreement on the meeting was reached during a telephone conversation between the Russian and Turkish presidents. bb.lv

10 days before the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine Ankara denied the rumors about the impending invasion, wrote our edition. The Turkish Foreign Ministry, as reported by the Anadolu agency, denied reports that Russia is preparing an invasion of Ukraine, its head Mevlut Cavusoglu said:

“…There were different intelligence data on these issues, but Russian and Belarusian sources with whom Turkey was in contact denied this (“invasion” of Russia).”

Against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine between Turkey and Greece a quarrel broke out. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu reacted sharply to a message on the social network of Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias. The head of the Greek Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter, as quoted by the Daily Sabah, that Turkey could take advantage of the situation in Ukraine in an “opportunistic way.”
