Poseidonos Avenue will become a tunnel

The recent modernization of the road network from the Peace and Friendship Stadium to Syngrou Avenue was only the beginning of a large-scale project.

It is expected that in the coming years the embankment will be completely changed and transformed in order to more efficiently serve the transport system of the southern part of the capital. This, of course, will significantly improve the quality of life in the surrounding areas.

In addition to bike paths and green spaces, underground works in many parts of Poseidonos Avenue will completely change its usual appearance (for example, in the Faliriko delta, above Poseidonos Avenue, it is planned to lay out a park).

According to preliminary data, the newspaper writes carandmotor.gr, after the completion of the construction works in Faliro, the areas of Agios Kosmas and Elliniko will undergo a transformation, on a 3 km long section. The almost underground tunnel will start from Alimos beach and end at the height of the Elliniko pier. In this way, free space will be created that will connect the new park to the beach and the infrastructure available there.

With the completion of the work, in about two years, starting today, the traffic flow from Piraeus towards Voula will move underground on the Alimos-Glyfada section of the route.

The above works concern not only the adjacent territories and their general improvement. You will also see positive results in terms of traffic as travel time will be reduced to a minimum.

According to available data, the above projects involve “cancellation” of at least six traffic lights along Poseidonas Avenuewhich create traffic jams during rush hour.
