Rain and snowfall: weather forecast for Sunday March 6

On Sunday, most of the country will be cloudy, rain is expected, and snow will fall in mountainous areas.

In the western, central, northern and eastern parts of Greece, bad weather will manifest itself “in all its glory.” Snowfalls are expected in the mountains, and in Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly they will pass even in the foothills. In the evening, solid precipitation is also possible on the plains of Evros, reports parallaximag.gr.

Weather storms will ease in most areas during the day, starting in the west, with the exception of the east/northeast areas where a severe weather front will continue to be present.

Frost in places at night and early in the morning on the mainland. A slight increase in temperature is expected in the eastern territory of continental Greece, and a slight decrease in the north.

According to the weather service of the National Observatory of Athens, the air temperature will fluctuate in Western Macedonia from -6 to +9°С, in the rest of northern Greece from -4 to +4°С, in Epirus from -4 to +13°С, in Thessaly from -4 to +13°С, in the rest of the mainland from 0 to +16°С, in the Ionian Islands from +4 to +13°С, as well as in the Aegean Sea region. In Crete, +2 to +16 is expected.

Cloudy, mostly in the north of the region. The wind is variable, south-westerly, up to 2-3 points on the Beaufort scale, in the afternoon – north-west, up to 3 points on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will fluctuate from +9 to 15°C, in the northern part it will be 2-3 degrees lower.

Thessaloniki is expected to be cloudy and rainy. From the second half of the day the weather will improve. East wind, force up to 5 on the Beaufort scale, with rapid weakening and change to the northeast direction, force up to 2-3 on the Beaufort scale. The temperature in the city center will fluctuate from +5 to +6°С.
