The Greek Ministry of Immigration and Asylum has announced temporary protection for refugees arriving from Ukraine for a year. If necessary, this period may be extended up to three years.
The Greek state will grant Ukrainian refugees the right to access the labor market and medical care. Citizens of Ukraine with travel documents enter Greece through any point of entry, without the obligation to issue a visa. However, those without travel documents can only enter through the Bastion Passport Control Department. There, in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Greece, they will be issued an appropriate document for legal stay in the country.
The Special Secretariat for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors is working with embassies, international organizations and NGOs to identify such children on Ukraine’s borders with other European countries to regulate all processes, including transport services and hospitality.
In the event of the arrival of unaccompanied minors at the Greek border, the National Emergency Response Mechanism for unaccompanied minors in adverse living conditions is activated.
The Ministry of Immigration and Asylum has set up a call center to provide information to Ukrainian refugees. Information, as reported newsbeast.gravailable:
