On a special charter flight organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, 50 citizens of Greece and Cyprus, as well as members of their families, are arriving in Athens from Ukraine.
According to the official report, 50 citizens managed to leave Odessa and Kyiv after the coordinated actions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Ukraine, and arrived in Greece through Romania.
They will be met at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport by Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Katsaniotis. “In such cases, it is important to ensure safety. Secure the road for the Greek citizens to leave safely. They had arrived in Romania and a special flight had now been chartered to fly to Greece. Now they are going to Athens, and their adventure ends in a positive way,” the deputy minister quoted the situation step by step.
When asked about other Greeks who may have remained in Ukraine, he replied: “It’s a process, depending on what happens on the ground, we make appropriate decisions.”
