The representative of the “People’s Militia” of the DPR, Basurgin, called on the authorities of Mariupol to organize a humanitarian corridor from the city for the exit of civilians. In Ukraine, his call was not heard.
“It will be necessary to try to make a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to let civilians out,” said the official representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin.
“The city of Mariupol is the second in population, it was the third after Makiivka, now it is probably the second. Therefore, everything will have to be done so that the civilian population does not suffer. By the way, there is a very big problem with food. The military organized a collection of food for themselves, because they “They complain that they have nothing to eat. Accordingly, they will take it away from civilians. It will be necessary to somehow deal with this and try to unblock the city as soon as possible, make a humanitarian corridor so that civilians can get out, and after that, deal with the city itself,” he said on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24“.
According to the military official, it will be possible to leave Mariupol until March 2. “We guarantee the safety of traffic on sections of the E58 highway both in the direction of the Zaporozhye region and on the territory of the Russian Federation – in the western direction: Mariupol-Mangush, in the eastern direction: Mariupol-Bezymennoe,” he specified for TASS.
According to him, now there is a problem with food, as the military arranged a collection of food for themselves.

Shooting is heard in Mariupol today
Basurin added that the city must be unblocked as soon as possible, Mariupol will be completely encircled on Tuesday, March 1.
“Today, the encirclement of Mariupol will be completed. He will be completely encircled,” he said.
Earlier, Basurin said that detachments of the armed forces of Ukraine mine Mariupol, not allowing civilians to leave the city, in particular, they are holding them hostage, because they are afraid to answer for the crimes that were committed against the population of not only Donbass, but also Ukraine.
In Ukraine, they did not respond to this appeal. Apparently considering that it is beneath their dignity to negotiate with the enemy.
Through the deafening sound of sirens warning of bombings, Afina Khadzinova, a resident of Mariupol, told reporters cathimerini.gr about the horrors of war in the city.
“People are locked in their homes, you have to be crazy to go outside. I live in the center of Mariupul with my 83-year-old mother, and we constantly hear explosions from bombings in the suburbs. “The walls of the house are shaking,” she said, adding that she did not expect this catastrophe.
As for supplies, Ms. Khadzinova noted that as of today, there is no heating in the house, and, according to her, there will be enough food and water for a week. “We did some shopping, but not much. I went to the supermarket yesterday at noon, but the shelves were empty. Stores open for a while and they are empty.”
At the time of our communication, Ms. Khadzinova was waiting for her mother, who entered a nearby pharmacy, shortly before the reintroduction of the traffic ban. “All I can think about is ‘he’ll be back, won’t he?’ “I also wanted to go and donate blood, but when this happens, it’s scary.”
When asked about the presence of the Ukrainian army on the streets of Mariupol, the Greek woman said that both the police and the army were in the area. “They set up roadblocks with sandbags, I don’t know why. There are also armored vehicles in some places.”
“I thought Mariupol had a good line of defense, I didn’t expect the Russians to go so far as to wreak havoc, to the point of bombing Kyiv and other cities,” Ms Khadzinova said of a “nightmare” calling for peace.
Not all residents of Mariupol are afraid of the Russian army.
An interview with the Greek Georgios Kiuranos, who lives in Mariupol, was made by the Sky TV channel.
“So, you will stay in Mariupol, do you think to leave there?” – asked the host of the show Dimitris Ikonoma during a discussion with G. Kiuranas.
“How to leave? If you go out into the street, the Azov brigade, which consists of Ukrainian fascists, they will kill you. How to leave?” said Mr. Kiuranas.

Mariupol and its environs are home to the largest community of the Greek diaspora in Ukraine. The Greek authorities have repeatedly stated that they are worried about their fellow citizens, sending them humanitarian aid (as well as weapons for the Armed Forces).
The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a note of protest to the Russian Ambassador, accusing her of bombardment the villages of Sartana and death of the Greeks. The Russian ambassador denied the accusations, shifting the blame to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
