A well-known meteorologist has published a weather forecast for this weekend: a cold snap and snow are expected.
Sakis Arnautoglu warns the inhabitants of Greece about the onset of bad weather. In his Facebook post, he notes: “Attention! On Sunday there will be snowfall in many areas of northern Greece, even with very low altitudes. As I already mentioned in the ERT3 meteorological reports, from the middle of the week for those who have to travel next Sunday in northern Greece, it would be good to have snow chains with you, as the weather is expected to worsen, with frosts and heavy snowfall. dikaiologitika.gr.
Snow will fall even in areas located at low altitudes in Macedonia. And in mountainous areas, it is possible that the height of the snow cover will exceed 15-20 cm within a few hours:
There is snow in places in Macedonia, even on the plains of the central part of the region, including the prefecture of Thessaloniki. In Thrace, snowfall is expected at an altitude of about 300 meters. In Epirus and Thessaly, snow will fall at an altitude of 500-600 meters.
