Another body found on Euroferry, 9 truck drivers still missing

Rescuers working on the Euroferry Olympia found another charred body late Wednesday night. Another 9 truck drivers have not yet been found, including two Greeks.

According to media reports, the charred remains of a man were found next to the truck. It is reported that the body of the deceased was not identified, since there was no material evidence of his identity with him.

The body was transferred to the morgue in the city of Messolonghi. Relatives of the missing are also brought there to establish their identity.

Several surviving truck drivers said their colleagues slept in their vehicles on the deck. At the same time, survivors complainedthat the trucks were parked very closely together in the ferry garages, which often prevented the truck cabin doors from opening normally.

Relatives of two other Greek and several Bulgarian truckers have been closely following the operation of firefighters and rescuers since Friday. Initially, they were on the island of Corfu, and then moved to Astakos, on the coast of Kefalonia, where on Wednesday they were towed and moored by ferry.
