In Brussels, at the EU-Africa summit, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis had a behind-the-scenes meeting with Somali Foreign Minister Abdisaid Muse Ali, who veiledly accused Greece of instrumentalizing the migration issue.
Demonstrating ignorance on the matter, he tweeted:
“I urged Greece not to politicize migrants, respect international law and protect human dignity.”

But this no longer saves or justifies him. It took an inexcusably long time for the deputy minister to “gather his thoughts,” which is unacceptable in this situation.
