“Coronavirus vaccines are expected to be available in pharmacies, as the flu vaccine has been made for a long time and it is much cheaper for the healthcare system,” said Yiannis Dagres, Vice President of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association.
He said that a dialogue had begun with the state for the active participation of pharmacists in conducting vaccinations, although the international medical community is not yet aware of the frequency of its appointment, but indicated that it was “only a matter of time.”
“This is what the government has said from the beginning that it wants to do. The authorities cite some foreign countries that already practice this as an example and argue that this solution has great advantages, since vaccination at the pharmacy saves resources and at the same time improves the quality of services.
In other words, if the same population is spread over a much larger number of pharmacies, and each pharmacist can vaccinate some citizens, this will increase the attention, effectiveness, quality and safety of vaccination,” the official said.
The only thing that is alarming is whether some unscrupulous pharmacists will inject placebos (instead of vaccines) to antivaxers for a fee? After that, they will receive the required certificates, while being dangerous carriers of the disease. But that, as they say, is another matter.
