Employees of the Thessaloniki Police Department arrested a criminal who carried out more than 100,000 euros from a supermarket with his accomplice.
A methodical investigation was conducted by the law enforcement agencies of the Northern capital, using video materials filmed by surveillance cameras installed in the store. This helped law enforcement officers find and arrest the perpetrator who took part in the burglary that occurred in December 2021.
According to ELAS33-year-old man and his accomplice broke into the supermarket late at night on Christmas Day, and opened two safes, but the third failed. As a result, they left the store with about 100,000 euros in loot, a laptop and various valuable documents.
As part of a coordinated police operation carried out on Tuesday, February 15, the police of the above service, with the assistance of the police of the Department for the Prevention and Suppression of Crime, searched the house of a 33-year-old suspect, during which a pistol and four rounds of ammunition were found and confiscated.
A criminal case has been opened against the accused, which is punishable by several years in prison.
