Government Gazette publishes decision on fines for unvaccinated 60+ in Greece

The Greek government has decided on fines for unvaccinated citizens over the age of 60. It was published in the government newspaper.

It also mentions the process of collecting fines, the next crossing is scheduled for February 16. On this day, it will be determined how many older people over 60 remain unvaccinated.

The following persons are exempted from the obligation to be vaccinated against the coronavirus:

all categories of workers who are required to be vaccinated in accordance with article 206 of law 4820/2021 (A’130) and the last paragraph of paragraph 2 of article 24 of law 4865/2021 (sanitary, etc.); citizens over 96 years old; individuals without AFM; persons working as officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of National Defense on behalf of abroad, who are sent to ΓΓΠΣΔΔ by the relevant competent services.

Confirmation of fines is made by ΑΑΔΕ and the message is placed in the personal information of the taxpayer’s Taxis account. The fine is paid in a lump sum, until the 15th day of the month following the issuance of the transaction using a payment code called “debt identification” (“ταυτότητα οφειλής” Τ.Ο.). In case of non-payment of the fine, interest is accrued on the specified amount. The full text can be found in “Government Gazette”.
