Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus considers the autocephaly of the OCU invalid and calls on the Greek Orthodox Church to condemn it:
“Let our Local Church unanimously condemn the invalid Ukrainian autocephaly, so as not to become a supporter of the schism.”
According to the Greek “Vima Orthodoxy”, the Metropolia of Piraeus calls to condemn the Tomos of the OCU and proposes concrete steps so that “the Greek Local Church is not wiped off the face of the earth, as the seven Local Churches of Asia Minor were wiped out.” The Metropolitan’s statement reads:
“Let’s not forget that “God is not mocked” (Gal. 6:7) and that “it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb. 10:31). If we are indifferent, then at some point the Spiritual Law will begin to operate. So before God’s wrath breaks out, let’s take the time to do the right thing.”
