Victims of sexual exploitation released

Three foreigners are arrested in a coordinated police operation. A case has been initiated against them on the creation of a criminal organization, human trafficking (sexual exploitation), as well as violations of the law on narcotic substances and weapons.

At the same time, three foreign women who became victims of human trafficking were identified, who were provided with appropriate assistance and protection.

According to Greek law enforcement agencies, since at least the beginning of November 2021, the defendants have created a criminal organization and have begun to sexually exploit women of Hispanic origin.

In particular, two members of the spiral found on the Internet young women who were in a vulnerable financial situation, and persuaded them to come to work in Greece. The third criminal, the owner and manager of a brothel, “employed” women.

It is noted that the defendants kept the documents of foreign women to prevent their possible escape. As a result of the investigations, 415 euros, 10 cartridges, 1 firearm, a small amount of marijuana, money transfer receipts and 4 mobile phones were seized.

The arrested were taken to the Prosecutor’s Office of Athens.
