Drugs were sent … in parcels

Cocaine, heroin and ecstasy ended up in postal parcels seized by the competent law enforcement agencies.

In particular, the drugs in the parcels were found and confiscated by the leaders of Σ.Δ.Ο.Ε. (ΣΩΜΑ ΔΙΩΞΗΣ ΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΙΚΟΥ ΕΓΚΛΗΜΑΤΟΣ), thanks to systematic intensive checks.

In the context of operational actions in order to detect narcotic drugs and prevent their importation and distribution on Greek territory, over the past ten days, employees of Σ.Δ.Ο.Ε. started detecting and seizing: heroin, MDMA pills, crystal MDMA, amphetamine and ecstasy (XTS) pills.

After that, persons related to the crime were identified and arrests of domestic and foreign offenders were made.

Facts:

426 grams of cocaine, carefully hidden in paper cylinders, were found and confiscated in a postal package sent from Argentina to the final destination in our country. The police are conducting a preliminary investigation to find and identify the perpetrator. 111 MDMA tablets and 96.2 grams of amphetamine were found and confiscated in a postal package from the Netherlands with a final destination in our country. After an organized operation, the recipient of the parcel, a 33-year-old local resident, was arrested in the Glyka Nera area (Attica). 107.5 grams of crystalline MDMA were found and confiscated in a postal package from the Netherlands with a final destination in our country. The investigation uncovered a second postal package sent from Germany, with the final destination of Greece, in which 1,154 ecstasy tablets (XTC) were found and confiscated. The sender is the same person. After an organized operation, the recipient of the parcels, a 40-year-old citizen, was arrested in the area of ​​Dionysos (Attica). A parcel sent from Kenya to Greece as the final destination, which was sent by air as cargo (rather than a postal parcel) from Kenya via France, contained 1 kg and 520 grams of heroin. The drugs were carefully hidden in packages for hairdressing and hair extensions. After an organized police operation, the recipient of the package, a 43-year-old foreigner, was detained in the center of Athens.

The arrested, after the formation of the case materials, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office for further action.
