Penalty for unvaccinated 60+ will be imposed from today

From today, February 1, the imposition of fines on unvaccinated persons over 60 years of age begins.

All citizens aged 60+ will be fined. The amount of the administrative fine is 100 for a full month or 50 euros for those who managed to get vaccinated before the 16th day of each month.

Confirmation of fines is made by AADE after receiving from the competent ministries a list of persons required to be vaccinated. Fined individuals can obtain information on the AADE myAADE digital portal on Taxisnet. The amount of 100 or 50 euros will appear in the section on debt and category of debt. You can also check if a fine has been imposed at emvolio.gov.gr.

We remind you that those who have been ill with coronavirus in the last 180 days and who have an official confirmation of a medical exemption from vaccination are exempted from financial punishment. Individuals who are exempted from vaccination on the reasoned recommendation of their treating physician are not required to be vaccinated following approval by the health district committees of the aforementioned Joint Ministerial Decision. Objective causes may be related to previous or existing diseases, such as epilepsy or severe autism.

The document does not cover categories of workers who are required to be vaccinated in accordance with article 206 of law 4820/2021 (A ‘130).

Government decision published in the Government Gazette, with exceptions for those who, for health reasons, cannot be vaccinated. Stelios Petsas, Deputy Interior Minister, warned that the fine would apply after 16 January.
